About You

Thank you for your interest in Hope and Friendship Foundation. We are a conduit between those that have and those that need. Our first priority is to understand your needs and determine if we can help you meet those needs. We would like you to take a moment to reflect on some things.

  • Are you looking for ways to give back to your community?

  • Have you had an emotional crisis that is holding you back?

  • Do you want to volunteer some time and skills to help a friend?

  • Has a recent crisis made it difficult for you to make ends meet?

  • Would you like someone to listen to you?

  • Do you have gently used household goods or appliances you can offer to someone in need?

  • Do you know a friend who needs some help?

At Hope and Friendship you are our friend.

Whether you are looking for help or you want to provide some help, you are our friend. We are friends helping friends.

And it’s all About You.

Don’t hesitate to contact us, friend.

Together we can make life better for you and others.

About Us

We are a conduit between those that have and those that need.

The need for help in the Lemont community is significant and it is growing.  Over 5% of the community lives at or below poverty level. While others are also struggling financially, yet ineligible for aid, and due to job loss,  illness or other crisis are not able to take care of basic needs. Hope and Friendship Foundation is here as a conduit of resources that offer help to those who have nowhere else to turn.

The foundation was founded by Terri O’Neill-Borders in 2005 as a tribute to her father. It is the belief of Hope and Friendship that a friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart. Though Hope and Friendship cannot provide everything of need for those households that experience such strain, it is our goal to provide opportunities for them to benefit from the kindness and generosity of the friends and neighbors around them.

We provide year round crisis assistance to those facing a variety of problems.  We also host a number of annual events that provide fellowship, friendship and hope for those reeling from the strains of life. In addition to the friends we help it is always amazing to see the friends who continually give their time and other valuable resources to assist those in need.
